May 14, 2013 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
New England Revolution News Release
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. "" The New England Revolution has teamed up with supporters group the Midnight Riders to hold a trivia night at The Banshee in Dorchester, Mass., on Thursday, May 30. All proceeds from the event will be directed to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society following Revolution player Kevin Alston's recent diagnosis with chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML).
The competition will feature Revolution- and sports-specific questions in combination with pop culture trivia. Participants will have the chance to come home with Revolution giveaways and a variety of prizes, including Revolution tickets and autographed memorabilia. A group of Revolution players is expected to attend and compete, while the Rev Girls will also be present, helping teams get into the competition.
Though held in partnership with the Midnight Riders, the event is open to all fans, regardless of affiliation.
"As soon as we heard about Kevin and his diagnosis, we came to the team to help however we could," said Midnight Riders president Fran Harrington. "Our first idea was a trivia night, which coincidentally was what the team had in mind as well, so we decided to combine our efforts and throw one trivia night to raise some money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and show our boy Kevin support."
