RENO BIGHORNS LAUNCH 2017-18 SEASON OF DOING GOOD

December 1, 2017 - NBA G League (G League)
Reno Bighorns News Release

RENO, Nev. - As part of the NBA G League Cares Season of Giving, the Bighorns will serve to help brighten the lives of local families and youth in the Reno/Sparks area. Throughout the holidays, the Bighorns will conduct player holiday meet and greets, children's hospital gift delivery, a pajama drive, book collection to benefit Washoe County Libraries, shoe drives for youth in the community, food serving at the Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows and more.

The 2017 edition of the Bighorns Season of Doing Good will tip-off at the Bighorns December 10 contest with a holiday giving tree to benefit the Renown Children's Hospital as well as a book drive to benefit Washoe County Libraries, an extension of the Bighorns partnership with the United Way for the Literacy is The Cure Campaign. During the Bighorns December 10, 12 and 20 contests, fans will have an opportunity to select a tag from the giving tree to provide a gift for a child spending their holiday at Renown Children's Hospital. The Bighorns organization will also play host to a teddy bear toss on December 12 for Renown Children's hospital. Players, coaches, and front office staff will deliver the gifts and teddy bears to the children's hospital on December 22.

The Bighorns will continue to grow the organization's commitment to support Reno by setting up three separate collection areas on December 17 to gather new or gently used basketball shoes to be donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows. Youth from the BGCTM will be invited to the Bighorns December 22 game to select a pair of shoes post-game.

To wrap-up the Bighorns Season of Doing Good, the organization will join forces with the St. Paul's Community Food Pantry for a canned food drive to assist those in need in the greater Reno/Sparks area during the holiday season. The drive will take place during the Bighorns December 20 contest. Following the Bighorns December 20 contest, the organization will host a pajama drive on December 22 to benefit Project Sweet Dreams, a non-profit dedicated to providing pajamas and blankets to youth who are in homeless or foster care situations.

Fans who make a nonperishable food donation on December 20 or a pajama donation on December 22 will receive a complimentary ticket to the night's game.

The Reno Bighorns are dedicated to investing its time, resources, talent and passion working year-round to support the Reno/Sparks region by serving as a positive agent of change.
