Reno 1868 FC News Release
RENO, Nev. - Reno 1868 FC has added forward Foster Langsdorf to the growing 2020 roster. Langsdorf has spent the last two seasons with Portland Timbers 2 on loan from the Portland Timbers. The 24 year old has scored 21 goals in the last two seasons and made two appearances with the Timbers.
"Langsdorf is a player we've liked for a few years, all the way back to when he was at Stanford where he won three national championships," said head coach Ian Russell. "He just brings a really good mentality to the team. One thing that stands out is his work rate defensively, he can lead the press."
Langsdorf is coming off of a 2019 season that saw him score seven goals and tally six assists in 27 games played. In 2018, Langsdorf set a Timbers 2 club record with 14 goals, adding four assists in 30 games played. In May of 2018, Langsdorf recorded the first hat trick in T2 history.
Prior to being signed as a homegrown player with Portland, Langsdorf played collegiately at Stanford where he set Pac-12 career records in points (86) and goals (37) while winning three straight NCAA National Championships (2015-17) and being named Pac-12 player of the year in both 2016 and 2017.
"He's scored 21 USL goals in the last two years," added Russell. "But he distributes the ball well, he's had 10 assists in the last two years."
With the signing, Reno's 2020 roster stands as follows:
Defenders: (4) Brent Richards, Thomas Janjigian, Yosimar Hernandez, Ayrton Statie
Midfielders: (5) Sam Gleadle, Mouhamed Dabo, Tucker Bone, Sergio Rivas, Kevin Partida
Forwards: (3) Corey Hertzog, Benji Kikanovic, Foster Langsdorf
