Chattahoochee Valley Vipers News Release
COLUMBUS, Ga. -- There is some meaning to Friday's meeting between the Rome Renegades and the Chattahoochee Valley Vipers at the Columbus Civic Center.
"It means we get to hit some other people for a change instead of each other," said Vipers coach Jason Gibson.
The Renegades and the Vipers will face off in the closest thing the American Indoor Football League has to a preseason contest in its second season. After approximately 20 minutes of 1-on-1 drills, the teams will play three quarters with no kicking situations.
Rome opens its season at the defending AIFL champions Richmond Bandits on Feb. 27 while the Vipers host the Daytona Beach Thunder Feb. 26.
