Renegades Trade Corbett
The Richmond Renegades today announced they have traded forward Scott Corbett to the Florida Seals for cash. Corbett will report to Florida later this week and is expected to be in uniform for this weekend games.
In 8 games for the Renegades Corbett had 2 goals and 4 assists and was a plus 3. Corbett had been acquired over the summer in the expansion draft along with linemate Dean Jackson. Corbett had recently been placed on team suspension for leaving the team to take care of personal business, according to team President and GM, Allan B. Harvie, Jr.
"I think the world of Scott and I believe he has a tremendous future in hockey," stated Harvie. "Coach Brophy is taking the Renegades in a new direction and he feels Scott's style doesn't match. He believes that Scott is a great hockey talent. That is certainly true as shown by the amount of interest from other teams once they heard Scott might be available. We will miss Scott and look forward to competing against him in the future."
