Ottawa Renegades News Release
OTTAWA â The Ottawa Renegades Football Club announced Monday that the team's top four selections from the 2005 Canadian College Draft have signed with the organization â and will be suiting up for training camp at Kemptville College, which gets underway Sunday, May 29.
Linebacker Cam Yeow, running back Les Mullings, fullback Cory Hathaway and defensive lineman Adrian Baird all inked deals and will be taking part in medicals on Saturday, May 28 before the first two-a-day practice session the following morning.
"We are looking forward to these young men getting an opportunity to show what they can do at the pro level," said Joe Paopao, Renegades head coach and general manager.
Lenard Semajuste, the Renegades' sixth round pick out of Adams State, will be returning to school next fall and eligible to come to training camp in 2006.
Yeow was the Renegades' first round selection (No. 2 overall). Along with his new three teammates, the group will not count toward cutdown dates (of narrowing rosters to 50 players on June 13) stipulated by league policy since they were draft picks. They will also not excluded from the 68-man roster going to training camp, as is offensive lineman Christian Leibl-Coté, a second round Renegades selection in 2004.
