Renegades Set First Training Camp

Richmond Renegades News Release
The Richmond Renegades of the SPHL today announced that they will be holding their training camp at the Richmond Coliseum beginning October 18th. It is expected that the Renegades will have 30 players in camp; the maximum allowed under SPHL rules.
Players will report on October 19th for extensive physicals that will last most of the day. Coach Brophy will hold a pre-camp meeting with the players that evening and begin two-a-day sessions the following morning at 10. Presently all training camp sessions are open to the public but that is subject to change as camp progresses. There is no admissions charge for training sessions.
"We are currently negotiating with the Fayetteville FireAntz to do a home and home exhibition series during camp," stated Allan B. Harvie, Jr., Renegades President and General Manager. "There are still a few details to be worked out by both teams and we will make the formal announcement when, and if, they are finalized."
"The boys had best be in shape when they report or they won't be around for long," noted Coach John Brophy. He continued, "Brian (Goudie) and I have really hit the phones hard and will continue to do so until camp begins looking for the best players out there. But sometimes what's on paper isn't always what shows up in camp. That's why we have camp. There are some quality, skilled players coming to Richmond and the fans can look forward to an entertaining team."
The Renegades season begins on the road October 27th at Fayetteville and their home opener is the next night, October 28th against the Jacksonville Barracudas.
