July 14, 2006 - SPHL (SPHL)
Richmond Renegades News Release
The Richmond Renegades, newest member of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today released their playing schedule for the 2006-07 season. The highlight of the schedule is that 22 of the Renegades 28 home games will be held on Friday and Saturday nights.
The home schedule features 12 Saturday games, 10 Friday games, 5 Wednesday games and one Thursday game. All games start at 7:35 P.M. Opening night ceremonies on October 28, 2006 will begin at 7:15 P.M.
"We are absolutely thrilled with 22 of our 28 home games being held on the weekend" exclaimed Allan B. Harvie, Jr., President and General Manager of the Renegades. "In all my years in hockey I have never seen such a great schedule. We really owe the SPHL and Commissioner Bill Coffey a great deal of thanks for this. A huge thanks is owed to Dolly Vogt, the Coliseum General Manager. She spent countless hours with me trying to accommodate us and maximize our weekend dates. Her team will have to work very hard to make this work."
Eight of the Renegades first 11 games and ten of their first 14 are on the road. The Renegades will enjoy eighteen of their home games from January onward. The Renegades final home game is March 23rd and they finish the season on the road the next night in PeeDee.
"That first 11 games will be a rough start for the boys", stated Coach John Brophy. "However, the advantage is we will have a lot of home games starting in January when it counts."
The Renegades full schedule will be posted on the team website at www.rrenegades.com.
