Richmond Renegades News Release
The Richmond Renegades today announced that Tracy Hynes, Director of Community and Public Relations and Group Sales, has been placed on the Injured Reserve list effective Friday, June 27, 2008.
Hynes, a mainstay with the Renegades front office, was on a primary mission for the front office staff last Friday (she went to get lunch) when she missed the final two steps on the restaurant staircase. In a valiant effort to save her fellow employees lunch from falling to the ground,, Hynes fell twisting her right leg and breaking her tibia.
True to her positive attitude, Hynes then walked back to the Renegades office with the lunch still intact. She was then transported to the hospital offices of Dr. Bill Nordt of West End Orthopaedics, the Renegades team Orthopaedic surgeon. After several exhaustive exams, Hynes received the bad news of the break.
"I am very disappointed in the news," stated Hynes. "But I was happy that none of the fries were lost from our lunches." When asked about how she was able to walk the two blocks back to her office after falling Hynes replied, "It would take a lot more than a broken leg to slow me down. I have a high pain tolerance; after all I've had three ids."
Renegades President Allan B. Harvie, Jr. was not present when the accident occurred. "Tracy was one of our original front office members in 1990 when we formed the team and has always been a team person. Despite this injury things will remain as normal at our office; we'll still continue to wait on Tracy hand and foot as we did when she wasn't injured."
Hynes will get a cast placed on the broken leg today and it is expected to remain in place for up to six weeks. In lieu of cards and letter Hynes requests that people buy more season tickets and group tickets. She will continue to make her public appearances with her next appearance being with other Renegades staff, players, Coach Goudie and mascot Boomer at the "Fourth at the Fort" at Ft. Lee on July 4th. The event is open to the public and runs from 2-10 PM.
