Ottawa Renegades News Release
OTTAWA â The Ottawa Renegades Football Club were part of the record-breaking Max Keeping Birthdate Bowlathon on Sunday afternoon, April 3 at the Merivale Bowling Centre.
Players, Renegades mascot Ruffy, Dance Team members and some of the team's front office were part of the group that helped raise $96,700 â the highest total raised in the 11 years the event has been occurring â for the foundation run by Keeping, an on-air anchor on CJOH Television. The money goes to economically disadvantaged children and families for recreation, education and emergency medical needs.
"The Renegades generated great excitement at the bowling centre, providing star power, glamour and energy," said Keeping. "We appreciate how much the football club does in the community year-round, especially for kids. This is another example of employing the athletic muscle to build a better community."
