Renegades focus on bulls-eye for Canadian Hearing Society

OTTAWA – The Ottawa Renegades will be taking part in the Third Annual Canadian Hearing Society Dart Showdown, scheduled for Wednesday evening, October 6th at the Lone Star Café in the east end of the city.
Tickets are still available at $25 apiece for the event, which goes from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Lemieux Street location.
Over the past two years, more than $30,000 has been raised in the annual fundraiser for the Canadian Hearing Society. The funds that are raised are used to support the client financial assistance fund. This year, the entire Renegades team will be attending the event.
“This is a great event that we look forward to attending year after year,” said Renegades president Brad Watters. “Being there as a team, with all our players and fans and supporting a worthwhile cause such as the Canadian Hearing Society is what our franchise is all about.”
Approximately $10,000 was raised in 2003, which helped purchase a hearing aid and an alert master (notification in case of fire) for clients of the Hearing Society who would be unable to afford the costs on their own.
Fans attending the dart showdown will receive a dinner, an opportunity to win prizes and get a chance to meet the Renegades and other celebrities, while supporting a good cause and having an enjoyable Wednesday evening.
