Ottawa Renegades News Release

OTTAWA – The Ottawa Renegades Football Club announced the signing of two import running backs Monday. The team inked Herbert Goodman and Ka Ron Coleman as the latest pair to sign deals with the Renegades.

Goodman, a 27-year-old product of Graceland, is an explosive back who comes to the Renegades with a half-decade of National Football League experience. He played four years with the Green Bay Packers (2000-2003) and last season with the Cincinnati Bengals. The 5-foot-11, 205 pounder also returned kicks during his five-year NFL career.

"We are pleased to get a player of the calibre of Herbert," said Joe Paopao, head coach and general manager of the Renegades. "In his time in the NFL, he was very productive and I think he gives us depth an training camp and strengthens our running back position."

Coleman, who measures 5-foot-8 and 198 pounds, also spent five years in the NFL with both the Denver Broncos and most recently the Houston Texans. A product of Stephen F. Austin University, Coleman hails from Missouri City, Texas. The 26-year-old also is a special teams threat, who has returned kicks in the past.

"Ka Ron had a great college career and played under Tommy Condell (the Renegades quarterbacks/receivers coach and passing coordinator) at Stephen F. Austin," said Paopao. "He's a veteran NFL guy who we know can do a variety of things for us."
