Wichita Falls Wildcats News Release
The Wichita Falls Wildcats traded their longest tenured player, Max Reisinger, to the Minot Minotauros for future considerations on Friday morning.
The Austrian-born winger had been a staple on the Wildcats for the last two and a half seasons. He had played with the team since the 2013-2014 season and was the only remaining player to have played in the Paul Baxter coaching era.
"Max has been one of our hardest working and disciplined players on and off the ice," Wildcats Head Coach John LaFontaine said. "We feel this will be an opportunity for him to take on a larger role and help Minot in their race for first place. He has left a strong impression on the Wildcats coaches, players, staff, and fans."
In 135 games played as a Wildcat, Reisinger scored 31 goals, had 37 assists, tallied 68 points and earned a +4 rating. In his final season in junior hockey, he had established himself as a leader on the Wildcats. He handled many captaincy duties, from partaking in ceremonial puck drops to being the liaison between the coaches and the referees. His skills, his leadership, and his personality will undoubtedly be dearly missed by the Wichita Falls community.
"We wish all the very best to Max and thank him for his contributions to the Wildcats organization," Wildcats President and General Manager Paul Baxter said. "Max is a tremendous person who we expect will do great things in Minot."
