Wichita Falls Wildcats News Release

WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Wichita Falls Wildcats forward Max Reisinger has received recognition for his recent offensive surge, as he was named the Star of the Week for the South Division in the North American Hockey League's Easton Divisional Stars of the Week, it was announced Monday.

"This is well-earned recognition for Max," Wildcats Head Coach John LaFontaine said. "He has been working very hard through the early part of the season, and it was great to see him rewarded for that hard work this past weekend. We hope he can continue that strong play with Austria at the upcoming U20 World Championships, and into the second half of the season."

The second-year forward garnered the first Star of the Week award of his career after serving as a catalyst on the attack for Wichita Falls against the Corpus Christi IceRays this past weekend. On Friday, Reisinger scored twice and added an assist for his second three-point game of the season, before registering a goal and two assists in Saturday's 8-2 victory to help the 'Cats complete the sweep over Corpus Christi.

Thanks to his six-point outburst, Reisinger has now reached new career-highs in goals (10), assists (8) and points (18) through 21 games played. This past Friday and Saturday also marked the first time in his career Reisinger has tallied three points in consecutive contests.

The Easton Hockey Divisional Stars of the Week is a weekly feature during the 2014-15 regular season that honors the top performing players in each of the four NAHL divisions. Reisinger is the second Wildcats skater to garner Star of the Week honors this year, joining Austin Beaulieu, who received the award for the week of Sept. 29 after a five-point weekend against the Topeka Roadrunners.

The Wildcats are next in action when they take to the road Dec. 12 and 13 to battle the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees. Puck drop is slated for 7:30 p.m. from the State Farm Arena on both nights, with video coverage available on FASTHockey.com, and an audio-only broadcast provided via YouTube.

Single-game tickets for the 2014-15 Wildcats season are on sale now at the Kay Yeager Coliseum box office. Stay updated on the latest team news and notes by connecting with the Wildcats on Facebook (WFWildcats), Twitter (@WFWildcats), Instagram (WFWildcats) and on YouTube (Wichita Falls Wildcats).
