Red, White and Blue Tour Comes Back to Quincy

July 10, 2013 - Prospect League (Prospect)
Quincy Gems News Release

Quincy is hosting a special baseball game between the U.S. Military All-Stars and the Quincy Gems. The two top-tier baseball teams will square off this Friday night at QU Stadium. Pregame salute to our local Veterans will start at 5:35pm. All veterans will be admitted free.

The barnstorming tour saluting America's veterans and active duty service men and women made it's first appearance in Quincy last year in early July to a packed QU Stadium with over 2,000 people on hand, when a Midwest thunderstorm dropped over 2" of rain on the field canceling the game. Forecast for this year's game looks much better.

"The U.S. Military All-Stars are an elite baseball team comprised of active duty service members," Karl Seiter squad leader said. "They play around the nation and are frequently the guests of major league and minor league baseball teams, as well as countless other professional sports franchises. They are terrific athletes who also have pledged themselves to protect and defend the United States of America."

US Military All-Stars have played the Yankees, Red Sox, Phillies, Cubs, Brewers, and hundreds of minor and collegiate league teams across America in their "Red, White, & Blue Tour". Now they are coming to Quincy to take on the Gems in a Patriotic spectacular this Friday night, July 12th starting at 5:35pm.

A patriotic fireworks display will take place after the game. Bringing the US Military All Stars and putting on fireworks display to honor our local veterans is made possible through th sponsorship of Mercantile Bank and Cell Tech.
