Dubois County Bombers News Release

Huntingburg, IN, June 3, 2012. The Prospect League leading Dubois County Bombers will once again give the ball to Jasper native Spencer Sapp this Wednesday night when they host their perennial rival, the Danville Dans, at Huntingburg League Stadium.

The Bombers hope to continue their torrid pace after a perfect opening week with six straight victories. Bomber first year manager Ryan Anderson has pushed all the right buttons so far - mixing in his position players and juggling an undermanned pitching staff in giving the Bombers their best start since 2007 when they captured the old Central Illinois Collegiate League (CICL) title.

With the elimination of Indiana State from the College World Series, the Bombers will soon welcome in pitchers Kyle Rupe and Kurt Krudecki along with outfielder Landon Curry. They've already had a solid contribution from another Sycamore - 1B/OF Jeff Zahn of nearby Newburgh. Recently finishing his redshirt freshman season at Indiana State, the lefty swinging Zahn has answered the bell for the Bombers with a .304 average for his first taste of Prospect League action. Curry will add nicely to the mix. The Uniondale, IN native completed his first season at Indiana State and finished with a .322 batting average and 49 runs scored along with 6 doubles, 1 Home Run, 27 RBI and 16-17 stolen bases. Rupe was one of the top starters for the Sycamores with a 6-1 record and a team leading 2.63 E.R.A. Kudrecki will start his second year from the Bombers and compiled a 3.86 ERA out of the Bullpen in 22 appearances for the Sycamores.

Game time Wednesday is 7:15 pm. Gates open at 6:00 pm Eastern Daylight Time.
