Philadelphia Rebels News Release

Jamestown, NY - The Jamestown Rebels are proud to announce that we have signed forward Matt DeRosa to a 2019-20 tender.

DeRosa, 18, spent the 2018-19 season, his rookie campaign, with the NA3HL's Rochester Grizzlies, maintaining a point-per-game pace, finishing with 46 points (23 G, 23 A) in 46 regular season games. His consistency continued into the postseason, where he tallied two goals in three playoff games for Rochester. When DeRosa was on the ice, good things happened, as his +37 lead the Grizzlies through the regular season.

"I'm really looking forward to playing for such a good program this year," said DeRosa. "I hope to bring a positive attitude as well as a work ethic that won't quit to help the Rebels make a push for the Robertson Cup".

The 6'1, 180Ibs native of Alpharetta, GA has NAHL experience already as well; DeRosa spent three games last season with the NAHL's Austin Bruins. He was also a member of the NA3HL 18U All-Star Team, which finished runner-up at the NAHL 18U Top Prospects Tournament. In four tournament games, DeRosa netted two goals and added an assist.

"Matt possesses a high level of pace and compete in his game along with his knack of finding the back of the net," said Rebels Assistant Coach, Josh Brown. "We're very much looking forward to his continued development here in Western New York".
