Pennsylvania Rebellion News Release

Washington, PA - The Pennsylvania Rebellion and the Chicago Bandits played in the second game of a three games series this evening from CONSOL Energy Park in Washington, PA. The Bandits outlasted the Rebellion in a back-and-forth contest by a final score of 8-7.

The Rebellion were the first to hit the score sheet when they plated 4 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Center Fielder Lindsey Stephens got the festivities started with a 2-run triple. Stephens then came home to score as part of a 2-run home run off the bat of Right Fielder Lexie Elkins. For Elkins, it was her 3rd homer of the season and it put PA ahead 4-0.

The Bandits got on the scoreboard in the top of the 4th. It was a solo shot from Designated Player Natalie Hernandez and that made it 4-1 in favor of the Rebellion.

The Bandits kept the bats going in the 5th when their second run of the game scored on the ground ball by Left Fielder Emily Allard. It was followed by a 3-run bomb by Catcher Taylor Edwards and it gave the Bandits their first lead of the game at 5-4.

The Rebellion wasted no time in responding as a base hit by Left Fielder Alexa Peterson coupled with an error on Bandits LF Emily Allard allowed the tying run to score. Pennsylvania took the lead back with an RBI single from Lexie Elkins and it was 6-5.

The topsy-turvy game continued in the 6th when Chicago battled back once again. It was a 2-run single by Taylor Edwards and it regained the lead for the Bandits, 7-6. For her five RBI performance, Taylor Edwards was named Powerhandz Player of the Game.

The Rebellion were not done fighting though. In the bottom of the 6th, Alisa Goler singled and got all the way to third on an error by Bandit Center Fielder Brenna Moss. Goler scored to tie the game on a sacrifice fly from Catcher Mandy Ogle.

The Bandits would take the lead for good in the top of the 7th. After a lead off single by Daniell Zymkowitz, she moved around to third base on a sac bunt and a fly out. She scored what would be the game-winning run when Right Fielder Sammy Marshall reached on an error by Rebellion Third Baseman Whitney Arion.

After splitting the first two games of the series, the Rebellion (4-8) and the Bandits (5-3) will play in the rubber match of the series tomorrow night at 7:05.
