Pennsylvania Rebellion News Release
WASHINGTON, PA - July 10, 2015 - The Pennsylvania Rebellion and USSSA Pride squared off in a low scoring pitching duel on Friday, July 10. Pitcher Miranda Kramer made her NPF debut for the Rebellion tossing six scoreless innings with four strikeouts in a 2-1 final score loss. Cat Osterman earned the complete game victory.
Despite not recording a hit, the Rebellion (5-20) held the lead for the majority of the game. Shortstop Whitney Arion was struck by a pitch in a bases loaded situation to walk home Cheyenne Cordes in the top of the first for the 1-0 score.
Impressive pitching by Cat Osterman kept the Pride's hope for a comeback alive, however, Osterman threw a complete game no hitter, striking out ten batters.
The Pride (16-7) completed their comeback in the bottom of the seventh inning when second baseman Shelby Pendley doubled to right center, scoring Bridgette Del Ponte and pinch runner Breja'e Washington. A scoreless seventh resulted in the 2-1 defeat.
The Rebellion look to turn things around tomorrow, July 11 when they host the Pride for a doubleheader beginning at 5:05 p.m. from CONSOL Energy Park. Tickets can be purchased at the Rebellion front office, by calling 724-250-9555 or online at pennsylvaniarebellion.com.
