Pennsylvania Rebellion News Release
WASHINGTON, PA. - July 27, 2015 -The PA Rebellion fell to the Dallas Charge in extras on Monday, July 27 at CONSOL Energy Park in what was a very evenly matched contest. Dallas Escobedo pitched a gem for the Rebellion, going eight innings allowing just five hits and three runs while striking out three but suffering the loss. Jolene Henderson received the win for Dallas.
The Rebellion jumped off to an early lead in the bottom of the first when Haruna Sakamoto hit an infield single and then advanced to second on an error, Alexa Peterson then drove her in with a base hit of her own to give the Rebellion a one-run lead. PA later added an insurance run in the bottom of the fourth when Peterson ripped a lead off double to right field followed by a RBI single by Alisa Goler.
The Charge would tie it up in the top of the sixth when Nadia Taylor hit a two-run ground rule double. Escobedo pitched out of the deficit without giving up the lead, however.
A scoreless seventh took the Rebellion to their eighth extra-inning contest of the season. With neither team plating runs in the eighth, Taylor proved detrimental to PA yet again in the later innings when she belted a solo home run on the first pitch of the ninth. PA was unable to mount a comeback in their final at-bat giving the game one victory to Dallas.
The Rebellion will finish their two game series with the Dallas tomorrow July 28. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. from CONSOL Energy Park. For tickets, please visit the Rebellion front office, call 724-250-9555 or visit www.pennsylvaniarebellion.com.
