Pennsylvania Rebellion News Release
MAUMEE, OH. - July 4, 2015 - The Pennsylvania Rebellion dropped the second game of their two-game series against the USSSA Pride by a score of 5-2 on Saturday, July 4. Starting pitcher Hannah Rogers earned the victory for the Pride, while Dagmar Bloeming suffered the loss.
The Rebellion's only runs came in the top of the first when first baseman Alisa Goler blasted her second home run of the season and drove in designated player Mandy Ogle. In the bottom of the second, the Pride responded behind Amanda Kamekona's three-run homer to give the Pride a 3-2 lead.
USSSA added two more runs in the third and fourth innings when GiOnna DiSalvatore reached on a fielder's choice allowing Megan Wiggins to score. A sacrifice fly from Courtney Ceo later in the inning gave the Pride a 5-2 lead.
Haylie Wagner pitched very well in her relief appearance for Pennsylvania. She allowed no earned runs and silenced the Pride bats in the later innings, but USSSA's arms stalled the PA offense. The Rebellion were unable to mount a comeback, giving the Pride the 5-2 victory.
PA stays on the road for the next three days as they travel to Chicago to take on the Bandits in a three-game bill beginning Sunday, July 5. First pitch is scheduled for 8:05 p.m. EST. Fans can follow along to the Rebellion play-by-play at msasports.net/broadcasts or via Twitter @PARebellion.
