SANDY, Utah (Friday, August 20, 2010) - The final Utah-based practice session for Real Salt Lake before it departs for Mexico City for next Wednesday's CONCACAF Champions League contest against Cruz Azul is set to take place TOMORROW, Saturday, August 21, at Rio Tinto Stadium. The practice session, which will help kick off the team's Annual "Meet the Team" event for RSL Season Ticket Holders, will start at 11:00 a.m. MT and is expected to last approximately 60 minutes. All RSL players and coaches will be made available to members of the media on-field following the training session.
After posting a 2-1 win over Panamanian champs Arabe Unido in last Wednesday's CCL Group A opener, Real Salt Lake (1-0-0, 3 pts.) will continue pool play during Matchweek #2 next Wednesday, Aug. 25, when the Utah side will head south to face Mexican powerhouse Cruz Azul (0-1-0, 0 pts.). Kickoff for the contest at Estadio Azul is slated for 6:00 p.m. MT, and fans can again follow live on Fox Soccer Channel, ESPN 700, ESPN Deportes 1600-AM, and Homero 106.1-FM. Real Salt Lake will look to make history during the trek down to Mexico City, as no Major League Soccer side has been able to defeat a Primera Division team in CONCACAF play on Mexican soil.
