Bakersfield Condors News Release

This Week in Condorstown:

Sunday, July 1st through Wednesday, July 4th: The Condors Booster Club is selling fireworks on the southwest corner of Coffee Road and Riverlakes from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day. Look for the Condors inflatable hockey player that's standing alongside the booth to welcome customers. Help support the Condors Booster Club by visiting the fireworks booth and getting geared up for Independence Day!

Tuesday, July 3rd: Condors player Reagan Leslie will visit Mercy Hospital at 4 p.m., located at 2215 Truxtun Ave., to see pediatric patient Bobby Garcia who is undergoing his second round of chemotherapy to help battle Leukemia. Garcia was diagnosed with leukemia in December 2005. Shortly thereafter, he went through his first round of treatment which lasted two months and took a toll on him physically and mentally, as he also has Downs Syndrome. In addition to chemotherapy, he underwent several bone marrow biopsies and spinal taps to fight the illness. The leukemia went into remission, but his victory was short-lived, as Garcia was re-diagnosed last month and was put back into the hospital to continue his battle. The Bakersfield Condors wish Bobby all the best and hope for a speedy and healthy recovery.

Wednesday, July 4th: The Condors front office will be closed in recognition of Independence Day and will re-open Thursday at 8:30 a.m. The Bakersfield Condors would like to wish everyone a fun and safe 4th of July!
