
Reading, Florida Meet in 24th Game 7 in ECHL History

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Reading Royals host the Florida Everblades tonight at 7:05 p.m. ET in Game 7 of their Eastern Conference Semifinals series. It marks just the 24th Game 7 in the ECHL's 25-year history, and the second this year.
Both teams are seeking their first-ever win in a Game 7.
Reading has appeared in two Game 7's, falling to Cincinnati both times - 6-1 in the 2008 North Division Finals and 1-0 in the 2010 American Conference Finals. This is the first time the Royals have played a Game 7 on home ice.
Florida is making its second appearance in a Game 7. The Everblades lost to Dayton 3-1 in the 2007 American Conference Finals.
The Everblades forced the decisive game with a 2-1 win last night, scoring two goals 1:30 apart midway through the third period. Five of the first six games in the series have been decided by one goal, with two going to overtime.
The home team is 15-8 all-time in ECHL Game 7's, and has won 11 of the last 17. Four times a Game 7 has gone to overtime, with three of those being decided in double overtime. The home team has won each of the Game 7's decided in two overtimes, with the road team winning the lone Game 7 to end in one overtime.
