
Rays Edge Astros in 12 Innings

GREENEVILLE, TN - The Princeton Rays defeated the Greeneville Astros in extra innings on Monday night. The defeat drops the Astros record to 28-30 while the Rays stand at 28-31.
With the score tied at 3-3, Princeton got a solo homerun from Bryan Fogle in the top of the 12th inning. That run ended up being the difference.
The Rays finished with their four runs on eleven hits and three errors. In addition to Fogle's game-winning homer, Ruben Contreras also connected on a long ball.
Meanwhile, the Astros had ten hits and two errors. Trailing 3-1 in the bottom of the eighth inning, Greeneville got a two-run homer from Telvin Nash to tie the game. It was his eleventh homerun of the season, which ties him with Marcus Nidiffer, who is now playing in short-season A Tri-City, for the team lead.
Matthew Gilson pitched 3.1 innings for Princeton, gave up one hit, and had three strikeouts as he earned the win.
