Ray Miron Presidents' Cup Finals Set

TEMPE, AZ (May 11, 2011) - The Colorado Eagles and the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs have both made their way through their conference playoffs and will meet in the Ray Miron Presidents' Cup Playoffs. The best-of-7 series will begin on Friday, May 13 in Loveland, Colorado at the Budweiser Events Center.
The trip to the Finals for the Colorado Eagles included best-of-5 series wins over the Quad City Mallards (Opening Round) and Missouri Mavericks (Turner Conference Semi Finals) as well as the Rapid City Rush (Turner Conference Finals) in a best-of-7 series.
For the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs, their path included best-of-5 series wins over the Arizona Sundogs (Opening Round) and Tulsa Oilers (Berry Conference Semi Finals) and a bestof-7 series win over the Allen Americans (Berry Conference Finals).
The teams played just once during the regular season with Colorado winning 6-1 at home on January 8. In the post-season, the Mudbugs and Eagles have faced-off three times with the âBugs sweeping Colorado last year, the Eagles sweeping Bossier-Shreveport in 2009 and the âBugs beating Colorado four games to one in 2006.
The Eagles will be playing in their fifth CHL Finals winning the crown in 2005 and 2007 while finishing runner-up in 2008 and 2009. The Mudbugs will be playing in their third CHL Finals finishing runner-up in 2004 and 2006 but have won three Western Professional Hockey League (WPHL) championships (1999, 2000, 2001).
