Rattlers-Avengers Game Sets Records

LOS ANGELES – The Arizona Rattlers and Los Angeles Avengers set the AFL all-time record for most combined touchdowns in a game with 23 in the Rattlers' 82-76 overtime win over the Avengers at STAPLES Center today.

The game's 158 combined points tied for third all-time with a game between Indiana (85) and New York (73) in 2001. Both Arizona and Los Angeles set team records for most points scored in game.

Individual career milestones were also accomplished. Arizona quarterback SHERDRICK BONNER became only the third AFL passer to reach the 500-career mark for passing touchdowns (501 total), joining New York's AARON GARCIA (522) and Detroit's ANDY KELLY (519). Los Angeles wide receiver/linebacker GREG HOPKINS tied an AFL record with his ninth career interception return for a touchdown (Orlando's KENNY McENTYRE).
