Rockford Thunder News Release
ROCKFORD - The Rockford Thunder and Rock River Raptors announced today that team staff members and some players would participate in the 7th Annual United Way Plane Pull on Sunday, Sept. 7 at the Chicago-Rockford International Airport.
The goal is for a team of 17 individuals to hook up to a United Parcel Service (UPS) 757 airliner and pull it across an airport ramp.
Additionally, the United Way will also host the 4th Annual Car and Motorcycle Show. Registration for the pull starts at 10 a.m. with the first pull scheduled for 12 p.m. The car show gates will open to the public at 11 a.m.
In addition to the staff and players that will be in attendance the organization is looking for 7-10 fans to join the Lowe Entertainment team. For fans, the cost is just $15 per person and that includes the plane pull and a gift from either the Thunder or Raptors. All proceeds will benefit the United Way.
The names of players and staff will be announced early next week.
