May 5, 2008 - Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL)
Rock River Raptors News Release
*ROCKFORD* - The Rock River Raptors of the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) and team General Manager Dave DeSanti announced today that they would hold a kicking contest at the next three home games and will offer a $500 scholarship to the winner.
The contest will be open to all high school place kickers, grades 9-12, in the area that are interested in the scholarship and will be held at the Metro Centre. Kickers must contact Sheryl Balluff in the Raptors office at (815) 965-7000 no later than Friday, May 9th at 12 p.m. in order to be considered for the contest. The registered kickers will be split evenly over the three remaining home games (May 10, May 17, June 7) and there is no cost to pariticipate.
Each kicker will receive five (5) kicks during the contest and they can be kicked from any of the five scoring lines. Kickers will receive points based on the yard line they kick from. For example, if a kicker chooses to kick all five from the 5-yard line and makes them, he will receive one point for each for a total of five points. If a kicker chooses to kick all five from the 25-yard line and makes just one, he will receive five points for the kick.
