Rock River Raptors News Release

ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rock River Raptors are pleased to announce that they have reached an agreement to join the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) for the 2008 season.

The Raptors drew interest from several quality leagues, but felt the CIFL would provide long - term financial stability while allowing our fans the chance to attend more road games.

"We like the way the teams are laid out geographically and feel this decision will accomplish two goals," said Interim General Manager Dave DeSanti. "First, it will cut our travel costs in half and second, we felt it was important to have teams close enough so our fans can support us when we are on the road."

The CIFL, headquartered in Canton, Ohio, is a fourteen - team league with teams located in eight states, including the Chicago Slaughter, coached by former Chicago Bear great Steve McMichael, and the Milwaukee Bonecrushers.
