
Raptors announce youth indoor football league

Rockford, IL - The Rock River Raptors announced on Monday they will be starting a youth indoor football league.
Raptors Youth Indoor Football Program, Inc. is designed to be a quality instructional league. The league is meant to educate and train young football players physically and enhance their mental skills as both players and people. The Raptors Youth Indoor Football Program is the first league of its kind and is being recognized by the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL). This is a supervised, full-contact youth indoor football program, with board approved coaches and referees. The rules will follow that of the CIFL with only minor modifications for the youth league.
The program will start with an open try-out on January 12, and will be held in Rockford, Bryon, Freeport, and Belvidere. Teams will be limited to fifteen players and practice will begin on January 22nd. The season will begin on February 2nd.
The league will consist of eight teams total with four teams in the 12U division and four teams in the 13U division. Team names will be based on teams playing in the CIFL and will use replica jerseys.
There will be a fee of $300 plus a $50 equipment deposit per player, and will include weekly instruction by members of the Raptors coaching staff and players. All games will be played at the Alpine Victory Sports Complex, with the Championship game to be played at the Metro Centre.
