Raptors announce first round of 2007 signings

ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rock River Raptors of the United Indoor Football (UIF) league announced today the re-signing of Ryan Aulenbacher, Billy Cook, Terrell Goldsmith, Jermaine Hampton and Willie Tolan. The Raptors also announced the signing of Lionel Hickenbottom.

Cook and Hampton are both returning starters from last year's team. Cook, a starter at cornerback led the team with 7 interceptions last season. Hampton, a safety, finished the season tied for sixth on the team in tackles in only eight games. Aulenbacher, Goldsmith, and Tolan all played a role in helping the Raptors win the Central Division Championship.

Hickenbottom joins the Raptors after spending 2005 in training camp with the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL). After being released by the Browns, he was brought in to training camp with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Hickenbottom played college ball at Northern Illinois University where he was teammates with Raptor safety, Hampton.
