Rapids Add 6 Players in SuperDraft

The Colorado Rapids added six new names to the club's roster at the 2009 MLS SuperDraft. The Rapids' first selection was forward Kwame Adjeman-Pamboe from George Mason University with the 28th overall pick, the latest that Colorado had ever selected in any previous draft.The Rapids' next selection came in the third round, when the team chose goalkeeper Steward Ceus.

With four picks in the fourth round, the most by any MLS club in draft history, Colorado selected forward Ross Schunk, forward Jordan Seabrook, defender Henry Kalungi, and defender Michael Holody, respectively.

Rapids Acquire Matt Pickens

The Colorado Rapids added a strong new goalkeeper to the club's lineup as they acquired Matt Pickens' rights from the Chicago Fire with a draft day trade. Pickens is currently in Carson as part of the US Men's National Team training camp.

Rapids Obtain Rights to Harden

Last week the Rapids acquired the MLS rights to defender Ty Harden in a trade with the LA Galaxy. In exchange, the Rapids sent LA one of their two third round picks in Thursday's MLS SuperDraft. Harden was the Galaxy's 2007 Defender of the Year.
