December 17, 2009 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Marquette Rangers News Release

Marquette - The Marquette Rangers Junior hockey team faces their second three game series in as many weekends as they travel to Northern Lights Arena in Alpena to battle the IceDiggers in North American Hockey League North Division play.

Marquette (16 - 9, 32pts.) continues to trail first-place Traverse City by two points heading into the weekend, while the IceDiggers sit in fifth place in the North Division with 20 points on 10 wins against 16 losses.

Despite their fifth-place standing, Alpena has been the hot team in the North winning four of their last five games; all against the first place Traverse City North Stars. Janesville remains in third-place heading into the weekend two points behind Marquette; Motor City is in fourth-place five points behind the Jets.

The Rangers continue to be led in scoring by Garrett Ladd and Andrew Kolb, each with 26 points on the season. Tanner Kero leads the team in goal production with 12, while Marquette native Collin Saint-Onge (24 pts.) and Brent Bain (22 pts.) also continue to lead the team offensively.

Goaltender Kevin Kissaw continues to work his way back from knee surgery, and played two out of the three games last week against Traverse City. Kissaw remains in the top ten among goaltender league-wide with a goals against average of 2.16 and saves percentage of.938. Kissaw's numbers place him as the top goaltender in the NAHL North Division heading into this weekends' action.

Rangers games are available with streaming video and audio from B2 Networks through the teams' website www.marquetterangers.com.
