Chicago, IL...For the second week in a row, Detroit Panthers guard Randy "White Chocolate" Gill was named PBL Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Gill, a 6-2 guard from Bowie State University, received Player of the Week honors as he posted 35 points, 14 assists, seven rebounds and one steal while connecting on 7-of-11 three-pointers in one game last week against the Battle Creek Knights (13-2). Gill's clutch free throws down the stretch sealed the game for the Panthers as they secured a 110-108 victory over the Knights.

"I've probably been playing the best basketball of my professional career during this stretch," said Gill. "I trained and worked hard this offseason to build on my game and it's really showing to pay off. At the same time, I have to credit my teammates, coaches and the entire Panthers organization for giving me this opportunity. If we don't win, then this isn't possible."

Gill was also named Player of the Week on February 24 after averaging 27.5 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 4.5 apg and 2.0 spg while shooting 48.5% from the field in two games.

"We are playing better and stronger and a lot has to do with adding Randy to our team," said Panthers Head Coach Bill Jones. "He has positively been an asset."

Gill currently ranks third in the PBL in both scoring (22.0 ppg) and assists (5.9 apg). Gill is also the only player in the PBL that is averaging over 20 ppg and at least 5 rebounds and 5 assists per game.

"Randy is a motivator on the court," said Panthers Owner Kevin A. Carter. "He pushes not just himself but he encourages his teammates as well."

Other nominee's included Alex Harper of the Wilmington Sea Dawgs, Frank Phillips of the Battle Creek Knights, John Ruffus of the Quebec Kebs, Tommy Mitchell of the Manchester Millrats and David Bailey of the Halifax Rainmen.
