Rampage's First Road Appearance at Kansas City Tomorrow
March 23, 2008 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Grand Rapids Rampage News Release
GRAND RAPIDS - After a pair of tough home losses to the past two ArenaBowl champions, the Grand Rapids Rampage will hit the road for the first time in 2008 when they visit the Kansas City Brigade tomorrow night. Each team will be looking to notch its first victory, as the Brigade dropped their first two games against the Tampa Bay Storm and the New York Dragons.
Grand Rapids has had plenty of time to prepare for this week's contest after playing its first two games over a short five-day span. The Rampage struggled in their last outing nine days ago, falling behind the Chicago Rush, 22-0, en route to a 64-35 defeat. New Rampage head coach Steve Thonn replaced quarterback Adrian McPherson (Bradenton, Fla.) midway through the contest, and James MacPherson (Tucson, Ariz.) threw for 182 yards and four touchdowns in relief. Meanwhile, receiver Anthony Hines (West Palm Beach, Fla.) led all Grand Rapids receivers with eight catches for 114 yards and one touchdown.
Meanwhile, Kansas City has been waiting even longer for tomorrow's matchup, as the Brigade spent last week on a bye. While Grand Rapids made its first visit to Kansas City last year - a 51-42 loss at the hands of the Brigade - the Rampage will get their first look at the brand new Sprint Center, which opened last October. The winner of tomorrow's game will move into a tie for second place in the Central Division with the Colorado Crush.
