Grand Rapids Rampage News Release
Grand Rapids, MI - The ArenaBowl XV Champion Grand Rapids Rampage announced today their home television schedule for the 2002 season. Four of the team's seven regular season home games will be televised live to local and/or national audiences.
In addition to the four home games, the possibility exists for additional road games to be added to the schedule. WXSP-TV 18, the team's flagship station, will air three games locally, while The National Network (TNN) will televise the June 23 contest against the Georgia Force nationally.
"Last summer, the Rampage captivated West Michigan with their championship run. The excitement for the coming season is growing every day," said Bob Sack, senior vice president of sales and marketing for the Rampage. "This WXSP broadcast schedule will allow football fans beyond those at the games to experience the Rampage. Additionally we're still working to finalize a road television schedule. We hope to bring one or two Rampage games back to Grand Rapids."
Bill Simonson, popular host of "The Huge Show" on WBBL 1340 AM, will serve as the play-by-play announcer for the three local broadcasts on April 20 and 27, and June 15. Veteran Rampage broadcaster Tom Sullivan will handle the color analyst duties.
For the Rampage home opener on Saturday, tickets are only available through season and mini-season ticket packages. Tickets for all other home games are available at all TicketsPlus outlets. Each of the Rampage's first two home games are expected to sell out.
