Grand Rapids, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Rampage of the Arena Football League on Thursday announced the hiring of Andy Lopusnak (loh-PUSH-nack) as their new public relations manager.

Lopusnak, 27, will oversee all aspects of the team's media strategies, including writing and distributing the Rampage media guide, press releases and pre and-post-game notes, organizing interviews with players, coaches and other staff members, and maintaining rampagefootball.com.

The native of Tampa, Fla., spent the last two years as vice president of communications for the San Diego Riptide of arenafootball2. Lopusnak played an important part in the Riptide being named af2 Expansion Franchise of the Year in 2002, a season which the league expanded by 10 teams. Prior to working for the Riptide, Lopusnak toiled for four seasons in the communications department of the Tampa Bay Storm (1998-2001), serving as the team's director of media relations in 2001.

During the offseason, he serves as a statistician for CBS Sports' coverage of the NFL and other sporting events, and has worked three Super Bowls, five ArenaBowls, the NBA Finals, the Final Four and the NHL All-Star Game. Lopusnak also spent two years as a producer on the FOX Sports Net sports-collectible program, The Daily Sports Show.

He graduated from the University of South Florida in 1999 with bachelor of arts degrees in mass communications and religious studies.
