Grand Rapids Rampage News Release
Grand Rapids, MI - The ArenaBowl XV Champion Grand Rapids Rampage announced today that defensive specialist Joseph Todd and offensive specialist Derin Graham will miss the remainder of the regular season after being placed on injured reserve.
Todd (5-8, 170, Mississippi Valley State) is suffering from a reoccurring injury to his hamstring, the same injury that kept him out of the lineup in last Saturday's home loss to Chicago. Through 11 games this season, the second-year DS leads the Rampage defense in tackles (43.5) and interceptions (2). He also ranks among the league leaders (T-10th) with 17 pass deflections on the year.
Graham (5-10, 186, Indiana) was diagnosed with tendonitis in his right knee earlier this week after playing in one game for the Rampage this season. Graham, a native of Indianapolis, started in the Rampage's 56-42 loss at Indiana two weeks ago, finishing with nine receptions for 81 yards and his first career touchdown. The former Hoosier has spent much of the season as a member of the team's practice squad.
Todd and Graham join a growing number of players on injured reserve for Grand Rapids. The list currently includes offensive specialist Steve Smith, wide receiver/defensive back Ricky Ross and linemen Demetrius Crowder and Tyshaun Whitson.
The Rampage hit the road for the final two games of the 2002 season as they fight for home field advantage in the first round of the playoffs. This Saturday they square off with the New York Dragons (2-10), before traveling east on I-96 to face the Detroit Fury (1-11) on July 19th to close out the regular season.
