Lakeland Raiders News Release

The Raiders organization has been diligently working behind the scenes to ensure vast improvements for the 2014 season. First off, moving to a new league is about as important as initially founding the team. The XIFL offers superior management, more opponents, no travel teams, revenue sharing and different rules to advance the game.

"We were simply ready for a change going into year three. The normal fan does not see what goes on behind the scenes and we felt it was best to move forward with the XIFL," commented

Head Coach/Founder Michael Mink.

The XIFL will feature teams (not limited to): Columbus Beast, Georgia Rampage, Marion Blue Racers, Missouri Monsters, and Lakeland Raiders. There are several other teams with current applications pending to be accepted into the XIFL, more to come after league meetings in mid-July.

The team's new TV series is currently in the final stages of production. Since the season concluded our team at N' Focus Pictures has been tirelessly working to make the series a hit! Investors throughout the season had privately funded the show, once complete it will be bid on by several interested networks. The show will air either this coming fall or spring on a channel TBA.

In other news some of the Raiders players and staff have already made it to TV. Chris Rutledge, Dave Del Col, and Michael Mink have all been chosen as extras in the USA TV series "Necessary Roughness," which airs Wednesday nights at 10pm. They have been cast as players and coaches respectively and will be heading to Atlanta this week to shoot the final episodes at the Georgia Dome. Other players from the team tried out last week and will know if they've made the cut in the next day or so.

"It's a unique experience to undertake, we we're contacted by a casting company looking for extras and I made players/staff aware of the situation. We had a good response from players and the casting crew has been great. We've kind of gotten used to having the cameras around from our own show all season

so it's natural for all of us at this point," said Mink.

The Raiders remain busy working to improve their product heading into the 2014 season. Any feedback is encouraged and welcomed to help us fix previous issues or lack of services. Please feel free to email any concerns, comments, or suggestions to dave.delcol@gmail.com.
