Raiders in Full Swing for 2012 Season

LAKELAND, FL- The Lakeland Raiders are counting down the days until the opening game against the Rome Rampage. The organization has been receiving a great feedback from the community and from all the surrounding areas. "The support makes me feel at home and really shows how championship football is in the blood of Polk County and the surrounding cities" quoted Head Coach Michael Mink. The staff has been working very hard to make this season a memorable one and now it is getting time for the players to get to work and make this the greatest show Polk County, Central Florida and Lakeland has ever seen.

The Raiders have been receiving a high interest of players wanting the chance to become a Lakeland Raider. We are announcing the Raiders will hold one last final tryout and chance to make the training camp roster. Saturday February 4th, registration starts at 9:30am and the tryout will be from 10am to 12pm. The cost for pre-registration is $35 and $50 for same day. The location for the tryout will be at Tigertown Soccer Field- 2301 Lakeland Hills Blvd, Lakeland Fl 33805. Players are advised to bring cleats and proper clothes for a variety of different drills and plenty of liquids for hydration. The players can pre-register at www.lakelandraiders.com and click on player tryouts. The Raiders will also be holding a mini-camp shortly after the tryout for the players who have made the current roster and for those who are of interest to the team. The Raiders will be announcing the 40 man camp roster during Fan Fest on February 11th at Jenkins Arena. The event is free to the public with a variety of festivities, games, discounted food, vendors, autograph sessions and much more. The following week, the Raiders begin their championship mission! February 18th is opening day for training camp where the players will battle it out to make the final 23 man roster in which only 18 players will dress and play each game.

Lakeland Raiders General Manager commented on the teams progression. "We have been working day and night to make this team into a high caliber organization and now the players will be put to the test to see who has been preparing for the season. We will put the best team on the field that gives us the best chance to win and represent this great city, county and Central Florida." The Raiders season and individual game tickets are currently on sale through the box office or by contacting the team at 1-855-RAIDER1. The fan shop is also available for fans to purchase their Raider Battalion gear. The Raiders appreciate all the support and all of the great people who are making it possible to be playing.
