
Raiders Announce Body by Vi Challenge Contestants

LAKELAND, FL- The Lakeland Raiders, Total Body Conditioning (TBC) of Lakeland and ViSalus Sciencesî are proud to announce the six contestants vying for a chance to win the Body by Vi Three Month Local Challenge. The Body by Vi ¢ Challenge is an innovative fitness solution designed for all health levels and is currently running through January 30th. Contestants for the contest include MariaRivera, Michelle Dadey, Math Grothe, Brenda Grother, Connie McGoldrick and Kristy Ortiz.Contestant 1: Maria Rivera Maria a school teacher who has struggled with weight problem for 20+ years. She stands at 5'6" and weighed in at 358 lbs. She has tried to battle her weight and is ready to dedicate herself to the challenge. She wants to start winning the battle with her health and wants to be able to have fun dancing. "I strongly believe that being part of this 90-day challenge, can give me the boost I need to stay strong on my lifelong weight control."
Contestant 2: Michelle DadeyMichelle currently works with The Ledger and was extremely excited to hear about the challenge that the Lakeland Raiders and Body by Vi has set forth. She is starting at 233lbs and plans to lose as much as possible. She was involved in competitive swimming and athletics while growing up and now has the great motivation of her 4yr & 5yr old children to feel healthy again. She has a very busy life and believes by dedicating herself to the challenge will be a great change in her life. "I want to do this for myself, my children and for the memory of my mother."
Contestant 3: Matt Grothe Sr. Matt is currently working with the Lakeland Raiders as the Quarterback Coach. He stands at 5'11 and weighed in at 270lbs. He is a father of three boys and has been coaching for many years with Lake Gibson. He is currently coaching at George Jenkins Senior High and is also the Raiders Director of football operations. He is employed by Woodmen of The World Ins. Society. He has been battling his weight for some time and is excited to be part of the challenge. "I have heard nothing but good things about Body By Vi and I am ready for a change."
Contestant 4: Brenda GrotheBrenda is a Para at Lake Gibson Sr. High working with ESE classes. She stands at 5'2 and weights 218lbs. She is a mother of three boys and is ready to work hard and make the best of the challenge by losing as much weight as possible. She wants to get back in shape and will be motivated by having the support of her husband who is also doing the challenge. Contestant 5: Connie McGoldrickConnie stands at 5'10 and weights 235lbs. She believes the challenge is great motivation to help her lose weight. She is a single mom and wants to be at a healthy weight and feel great.
Contestant 6: Kristy OrtizKristy is a wife and mother who has struggled to lose weight for the past 6 years. She stands at 5'6 and weighed in at 175 lbs. After having a child, she became so self-conscious that she avoided being in groups or having her picture taken at all costs. While she was young, she was involved in an unfortunate car accident which left her with some severe scares and is ready to be comfortable in her my body again. She is committed to developing and sharing a healthy lifestyle with her family and to be able to live to see my children's children grow up in that healthy lifestyle also." I feel this is my opportunity to overcome so much more than just losing weight, this challenge is my chance to face my fears and finally win the battle against my own insecurities. I have followed news of the Raiders over the past few months and I believe this is an amazing partnership and the Raiders Body by Vi Challenge is the opportunity of a lifetime and one that I will take very seriously."
The Lakeland Raiders are very fortunate to have Total Body Conditioning and ViSalus Sciencesî as a partner to help the six participants reach their healthy goal weight. Weigh-ins will be held each Friday and the winner will receive a Raiders Prize Pack valued at over $1000 and be entered for a chance to win at the national level.
