Rage Target Defense

September 20, 2007 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Rocky Mountain Rage News Release

Broomfield, Colo. - The Central Hockey League's Rocky Mountain Rage have signed defensemen Jami Yoder and Pat Sutton, as well as goaltender Terry Dunbar. The team now has 17 players under contract for the upcoming regular season, which officially begins on Oct. 19 when the Rage travel to play the Odessa Jackalopes.

Yoder (6-foot-5, 205 lbs.) enters his 11th professional season having logged nearly 700 games for nine teams in four different leagues. He spent the last two years in the United Hockey League with the Quad City Mallards, recording 16 points (1g-15a) and 119 penalty minutes a season ago.

Sutton (6-foot-0, 180 lbs.) also skated in the UHL last season. Playing with fellow Rage teammates Colt King and Scott Wray for the Port Huron Flags, he registered 19 points (4g-15a) and 80 penalty minutes. Sutton turned pro out of the Ontario Hockey League in 2005-06 and spent his rookie campaign in the ECHL with the Pensacola Ice Pilots and Victoria Salmon Kings.

Dunbar (6-foot-2, 210 lbs.) joins the Rage and becomes reunited with head coach Tracy Egeland, for whom he played in 2005-06 when both were with the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees. Last season, the Duluth, Minn., native manned the pipes for the Southern Professional Hockey League's Knoxville Ice Bears. He posted a record of 25-13-3 with a .897 save percentage and 3.13 goals against average, the second-lowest mark in the SPHL.

"We'll certainly have a lot of firepower up front this season, but that'll do us no good if we don't improve defensively. These three individuals will help us meet that goal," said Egeland. "Jami will provide an experienced, veteran presence on the blue line, while Pat's steady play will only get better as he enters his third year. And it's nice to have Terry back on my team. I'm comfortable with him in net, and I know he'll win a lot of games for us."
