Racing Louisville FC News Release
Racing Louisville FC, the new National Women's Soccer League franchise beginning play next year at Lynn Family Stadium, is now scheduling appointments for seat selection Sunday toward the club's inaugural 2021 season.
The event will conclude with a watch party for the NWSL's Challenge Cup final airing at 12:30 p.m. on CBS - and on the Lynn Family Stadium big board - providing an opportunity for the general public to test out the new venue's vantage points.
More than 1,000 initial payments have been placed for Racing Louisville FC tickets, with the club expected to have immediate access to United States Women's National Team members. The NWSL features star players Megan Rapinoe, Alex Morgan and Rose Lavelle, among others, who could also visit Louisville next year on opposing teams.
Those to have already made their initial ticket payments have been emailed about seat selection.
Those without initial payments are still invited to the watch party. RSVP , and secure parking for Sunday in the Purple Lot, just west of the stadium off Adams Street, at bit.ly/ChallengeCupParking.
Concessions and Racing Louisville FC merchandise will be available Sunday at this event that is otherwise free to attend. RSVP early, as is expected to quickly reach capacity under COVID-19 physical distancing protocols. Gates open at 11:30 a.m.
The Challenge Cup, a 25-game tournament that marked the return to team sports in the United States, has taken place in Utah with teams creating an "NWSL Village" to control as much of the environment as possible. In Wednesday's semifinal round, the Houston Dash meets the Portland Thorns at 12:30 p.m. ET before the Chicago Red Stars face Sky Blue FC at 10 p.m. ET, with both games live streaming on CBS All Access.
Regular Lynn Family Stadium safety measures will be in place Sunday under the Venue Shield program, same as when Louisville City FC hosts USL Championship games. All patrons will have temperatures checked upon entry; masks/face coverings are required to be worn at all times except when actively eating or drinking; and at least six feet of distancing is needed between families in attendance.
