
R-Braves Scott Thorman Selected to Olympic Team

Braves INF Scott Thorman was named to the Canadian team that will play in the up-coming Olympic tournament in Beijing. Thorman, currently hitting .247 with a club leading 15 home runs, is one of five current or former R-Braves who were named to the 24-man Canadian Olympic roster. Former R-Braves on the Canadian squad include Stubby Clapp, Pete Orr, Adam Stern, and Rheal Cormier. Orr played in the 2004 Olympics for Canada while a member of the R-Braves. Thorman was a member of Canada's 2004 Olympic qualifying squad and played in the 2006 World Baseball Classic but did not play in the 2004 Olympic tournament. Of the eight nations participating in the Olympic tournament only two (Canada and USA) are represented on the Braves roster.
