September 23, 2007 - SPHL (SPHL)
Richmond Renegades News Release

The Virginia Department of Health, Division of Chronic Disease Prevention and Control, under the "QUIT NOW" banner, will be co-sponsoring a youth hockey camp with the Richmond Renegades during the Renegades regular training camp, a first ever for the Renegades.

There are only 60 slots open for youth ages 5 and up who want to learn from the pros. The camp will be held at the Richmond Coliseum on Sunday, October 21st from 1-5 pm. Players can check in and register through the Clay Street tunnel entrance beginning at noon. The youth players will spend the afternoon with the Renegades and go through both on and off-ice drills and exercises. Players must have full equipment including two sticks and gym shoes.

At the conclusion of the camp, the youth players will join the Richmond Renegades players, Coach Brian Goudie and President/GM Allan B. Harvie, Jr. for a team meal. They will receive a "QUIT NOW" t-shirt, a Renegades lapel pin and a certificate of attendance. Cost of the camp is $ 60 with a portion of the proceeds going to Pediatric Cancer Research.

This will be very unique experience for these young players. They will dress with the players in the team locker rooms, go through the same drills that Coach Goudie runs for the Renegades and be able to get professional instruction from the pros.

Reservations will be taken on a first come basis by calling the Renegades office at (804) 644-7825. Once the 60 slots have been filled, no additional campers will be accepted.

The Renegades will play an exhibition game in Fayetteville against the SPHL champion FireAntz on Friday, October 19th and return home for a game in the Coliseum at 7:35 pm on Saturday, October 20th. All seats are reserved and are $10 for adults and $6 for youth 10 and under. Single game tickets will go on sale to the public October 1st.
