Player of the Week
Prospect league announced Pitcher of the Week honors goes to Quincy Gems's Aaron Michel (Western Illinois University/Freshman). The lefty pitched in two games, 11 innings with 9 hits, 1 walk, 7 Ks and 3 earned runs. Aaron picked up two victories and moved his season record to 3-0 with a 1.60 ERA, Michel is the second Quincy Gem player to be Prospect League player of the week.
Quincy Gems 4th of July week games at home.
Quincy Gems started their fireworks week last night with Hollister Whitney fireworks night. Quincy Gems play a Double header July 3rd against Terre Haute. GAME TIME:5:35pm Fireworks after the game, sponsored by Refreshment Services Pepsi. Quincy plays at home on the 4th of July against Springfield GAME TIME: 6:35pm, fireworks after the game. Gems go on the road Friday to Danville, and return home on Saturday night for a Double Header against Hannibal. GAME TIME: 5:35pm. Fireworks after the second game sponsored by Titan Wheel.
