Quincy Gems News Release
Quincy, Illinois---- The 2012 Quincy Gems are days away from playing baseball in Quincy, Illinois and we are still in great need of seeking individuals and families to host the incoming Gems Players. This is the 17th year for the Quincy Gems to take the field at QU Stadium, provide family affordable entertainment, and showcase college baseball players to the scouts for the Big League.
One main component of the success of the Quincy Gems is the Host Families. These dedicated people provide a summer home and a "sense of family" for the players. The Host Families in return receive a summer of fun, baseball, and the reward of an honorary son. Past season Host Families have found it a rewarding experience and many of the host families still keep in touch with the past players!
The Gems are currently still in need of placing 4 players in Quincy area homes as they arrive from their college ball over the next 10 days. If you are interested in being a Host Family, please contact the Gems Office at 217-223-1000. Quincy Gems Baseball has become a Quincy Tradition and Host Families are greatly appreciated for their contributions to this tradition.
