Quincy Gems News Release
In the final summer Colligate baseball rankings of the summer, the Quincy Gems, Prospect League champs, rise to their season high ranking at #4 in the nation of all summer league teams, as reported by Perfect Game USA
"The Prospect League champion Quincy Gems (40-18), New England Collegiate League champion Keene Swamp Bats (34-16) and West Coast League champion Corvallis Knights (44-18) were also in the running for the top spot." said Allan Simpson of Perfect Game USA, the number one scouting service in the country. Allan summarized Quincy by saying, "Gems were Prospect's dominant club from the outset; capping off the season by wining second league title in three years. Top Prospect: Chris Serritella (Southern Illinois) missed first two weeks, still led league in HR's, RBI's; ball jumps off his bat!"
The Quincy Gems have been in the play offs each of the past three seasons since the CICL League merged to form the Prospect League, all under the direction of Field Manager Chris Martin. Chris Martin who took the helm of the Quincy Gems in 2007, has had a great five years making Gems baseball exciting for Quincy fans. Quincy Gems since it's inception in 1996 has won 5 league titles.
