
Quakes To Host Earthquake Awareness Night

Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release
Rancho Cucamonga, CA- Yesterday Southern California was rocked by a 5.4 magnitude earthquake which was centered in Chino Hills, CA. Chino Hills is approximately 20 miles from where the Quakes play at the Epicenter in Rancho Cucamonga, which was "shake, rattlin', and rolling" at 11:42 AM. In a response to this seismic event, the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes will hold an Earthquake Awareness Day on Tuesday, August 5th conciding with their game against the Inland Empire 66ers.
On this day, Quakes "Fault Zone" or Club seat tickets will be available for $5.40. The Quakes "Fault Zone" is located in the right field café. This is more than 30% off of the normal ticket price. Chino Hills residents can receive complimentary Club Seat tickets by showing proof of residency at the Quakes Ticket Office. Gates will also open for the public at 5:40 PM, with first pitch schedule for 7:05 PM.
Tables will be set up in the concourse with safety information available from the Red Cross, the San Bernardino County Office of Emergency Services, the City of Rancho Cucamonga and State Farm insurance. The Quakes' Play Ball Magazine will also publish earthquake safety tips.
During the game safety tips and earthquake facts will be displayed on the video board and announced over the public address system. On-field promotions will have an "Earthquake" feel as the Tremor Race, the Seismic Trivia Challenge, and the "Shakeoff" will take place. Earthquake themed prizes will be given away throughout the night, including special "Fault Zone" visors.
"The Quakes understand the severity of earthquakes, especially here in Southern California. This is an opportunity for us to help educate fans on earthquake preparations and enjoy a Rancho Cucamonga Quakes game at the Epicenter," says Quakes Executive Vice President and General Manager Gerard McKearney.
Tuesday is "Taco Tuesday" presented by Poco Loco and KOLA 99.9. Fans can enjoy $1.00 Poco Loco tacos all game long in the right field café. The Epicenter will also host the 2008 Principal Financial Group Family Fun Fest on this date.
